I need to get a new HSF. I'm currently running with the noisiest ******* Global Win has, and it's driving me crazy! It does a great job of cooling my CPU, but I just can't cope with all that noise. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should buy? I have heard Glacier is great... any ideas?
And lastly I'd want to know of any web shops where I could buy it. I live in Norway, so keep that in mind.

Maybe Noise Control Silverado will be ur choice when u want less noise
Noise Control Silverado does a good job cooling the cpu but of course it is no way as good as ur current HSF
but i can't think of another HSF that is quiet and does a good job

are u talking about the cak38?
if so then i think bascially it's the best from global win
if not u can go get that.....but again it uses the delta fan....so same kind of noise
consider the swiftech or glaciator

im using the high rpm global and it is driving me insane also. Does anyone know if the glaciator is less noisy?

Of course the Glaciator is less noisy then the Delta 38 but still quite loud

To get good air cooling - unfortunately, noise is part of the package. Good air cooling requires a good heatsink, i.e. Glaciator, SK-6, CAK38, etc.. and a powerful fan, of at least +30cfm. Noise. Another HSF, Swiftech 462A, uses an 80mm fan, and can be less noisy.
To eliminate noise you could line the inside of your case with egg crate foam. I did that on one of my machines - which had a ThermalRight SK-6 HSF, and it reduced the noise level about half.

Well, if you're not overclocking, you might be able to get away with a Thermalright SK6 with a Sanyo Denki Ultra Quiet fan on it.... I think, though, that sound is something you just have to deal with when overclocking, or else go with chilled water cooling.

I'm using the MC462 w/Sanyo Denki and it is very quiet compared to the Deltas, and also does an awesome cooling job. It costs more than most, but I think it's worth it.
