Hello all, this is my first time posting on these forums. All i want to really know is what games are upcoming. You see, i've been a Xbox Live gamer for a long time. I loved it, but then i got CS for the PC. I love it. It is very cool. Much better than the PC version. My PC isn't the best, and i want CS to run good, so i might be looking into a new "Gaming" PC. Everybody i ask on CS says you should build your own. I know a lot about PC's from long ago, and i know how to build one. (Just have to familiarize myself with the technology) The only thing that is holding me back is is there more cooler games out there like CS? Is there tons of people playing them like CS too. I really like CS, and wish to have more fun on the PC. Please tell me if i should buy a PC for upcoming games or if there arn't any.

Thank you,

Slid3r

EDIT: Oh, i don't care for Single Player Games either. I much rather have Multiplayer...

There a lots of games like counter strike out, and I think they will are making a new cs using HL2's game engine. What do you have on your pc currently? What other things are you going to be using your pc for besides gaming? and the most important how much are you planing to spend on a new system?

I'm playing City of Heroes currently for the PC,
I'll wait and see what happens with HL2,
I will ceratinly buy Halo 2 upon it's release, might even try Live.
Then I will most likely get BattleField 2 and City of Villains.

Oh and WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!

So far it only looks like a New CS, and Battlefield. Is there anything else? My PC currently is bad. It's a 2.6 GHZ P4, 512 PC2700, MX440, 120 GB 5400RPM HDD. But the problem is, CS doesn't wokr on this one, but rather my older one. a AMD 1200+ and a 32MB grphx card. Which is bad. I lag a lot with it, and my microphone doesn't work. I want to buy a new PC and would like some suggestions on where to buy PC's. I do get %15 off Dell PC's through my dad's work.

I think i'll stick with Xbox Live. Doesn't seem like theres a lot of games out there, or enough for me to switch. Xbox Live has tons of games coming to LIVE.

Let's see...

Halo
Halo Custom Edition
Unreal Tournament 2004/2003
Quake 3
Painkiller
Doom 3
Medal of Honor
Call of Duty
Battlefield Vietnam
Battlefield 1942 with the Desert Combat mod
FarCry

Upcoming games:
Half-Life 2
F.E.A.R.
Tribes Vengeance
Star Wars: Battlefront

That's just a few of the many great games out there. All First-person shooters. Still think there's a lack of games out for PC? ;)

u can use ncix.com to build it for you, u just tell shop for your stuff and add $20 for assembly... not bad. they are really a canadian site but they ship to the us, their prices are sort of high but if your parents dont trust you, i'm guessing this is the way to go

as for the games... i loved c-s but, its filled with hackers..
any games out there where cheating isn't too extreme?

I've looked at ibuypower and cyberpower inc, and they look like a good company. Alot of awards for good PC's for Pcworld. they also seem not to expensive. I think i'll go with them. I'll make sure to post my specs in the General Hardware section so i make sure i order the right PC.

However long it takes you to pick up a part, and place it in the slot of the motherboard. Usually, about 5 minutes per part if you count in every aspect of it. Make sure you don't short anything out with static electricity though (I did that with my state-of-the-art pentium 133 years ago).

you wont regret building a pc, there are plenty of games to keep you busy like the ones listed above and then there are MMO's for online play also.

are the ones you listed above for online play too?

The trouble with buying an OEM computer like Dell is you can't overclock 'em and it will probably have a wimpy video card. For gaming, the most important component is the vid card. You parent's computer is not bad if you could get them to upgrade the vid card.
