I'm using the Cat 4.8's and I installed ATI Tool to overclock my card.
I raised my core and mem speeds and saved it as a new profile.
Now in order to have these settings automatically applied when I start up my PC do I need to have the ATI Tool selected to start when windows loads?

Also there is a 2D profile and a 3D profile, do I need both of these enabled? I just set both to the new profile that I saved with the higher clock speeds.

If someone could answer my questions it would really help me out.

Also, one weird thing, I ran 3DMark 01SE at default clocks but when I raised my core and mem clocks like 5-10Mhz each my 3DMark score actually went down some... Sort of weird but we'll see how it goes when I push them further.

Yes, you'll need ATITool to start up with the computer to change your clock speeds from stock to overclocked.

The profiles allow you to run your card at two different speeds depending on if you're in 2D (desktop) or 3D (gaming). The setting you choose for 2D profile will be applied whenever ATITool detects a 2D environment (on system startup, exiting a game), and the setting for 3D profile will be applied when ATITool detects a 3D envrioment (when you start a game). If you always want your card OCd, you can either have both set to your overclock, or just the 2D one and have ATITool automatically close itself after loading.

So do most people leave there card OC'ed all the time or just when running 3D apps (games, etc)? The card doesn't get confused or anything by changing clock speeds a lot does it?
