I was planning on getting one and all I hear about is the GT...for those with cash. XD I wanna know what current NU owners think of the card! Some FPSs would be great too. :D

I love mine. eVGA 6800NU 400/800. Get around 80-90 fps in far-cry at high settings with quality driver settings 1024X768. 130fps in RVS 1280X960 all settings maxed, 4XAA 8XAF. Pushing towards 10K 3d03 marks. Havn't run 3dmark 2k1. Overall i'm very happy with the card

I have to agree. I have the Chaintech NU and the BFG GT (watercooled). There is a difference between the 2 (more so with the modded bios and WC on my GT, but the NU is a hell of a card, especially for the price. I previously had a 9800XT and the 6800NU is much better in my opinion. It just gets over the top on high settings in games where my XT would lag a bit. Also consider the fact that I sold my XT a few weeks before the NU came out and I made a few bucks off the deal and got my free HL2. If your in the market for a sub $300 card, you really cant find anything better. HL2 source, Doom 3, FC, all play super on it.

i have a msi 6800nu and i really like it. its oced to 410/850 right now, the memory isnt maxed out yet.
with those clocks i get 39 FPS in doom timedemo, high quality, everything maxed @ 1280*960 4AA. my other system specs are in sig.
i also did some benches at stock clocks, you can find them here (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=320922&highlight=bored+night)

i have eVGA 6800NU and not satisfied with it. it makes you think that you can turn everything max and enjoy but it's not. and the GT really worth the extra 100.

Welll....thanks guys. I think I've made my choice. I'll buy the 6800 NU. Out of the 5 people that replied, 2 of them said they weren't happy. Adding tons of reviews I've read, saying that the 6800 NU was the best band for the buck card on the market now, I say GO 6800 NU! :D Now to browse software packages to pick a brand...

I got my BFG 6800OC today... haven't OC/ed yet or really done anything yet with it but I really like it. With my rig stock at 2ghz and the card stock I got 8500 in 3dmark03.

O and it came with wonderful farcry :-P

I second what a few others have said, It makes you feel like you can turn everything up but you really cant... This card has made me want a GT more than ever.

I installed FarCry last night and made an account and stuff...
I have never played farcry online so I didn't know wtf I was doing but at 1280x1024 with 4xAA and all settings on HIGH I was totally fine running around trying to figure out what to shoot :-P

try playing far cry in the later stages, especially starting from steam stage. 6800nu will not be able to keep up.

I have played it all the way through and even D00M 3 twice.

I just loaded the Volcano check point and was getting 50's\60's fps.

BUT let me say, if I had the extra $100. I would get the GT.

I'm not sure if there is a difference between vendors, but today I was taking the HS off my NU which is a chaintech to put AS on, and I had already done it with my BFG GT because I put a water block on, and noticed the chaintech has a solid copper HS under that plastic where my GT was aluminum. Does anyone know if all the NU's use copper? I know it would surely help temps, and maybe why some peoples NU cores can clock past the GT's.

OK... now im regretting on wat i was saying...

i just added another 512ram on my rig...

and now i can play farcry with all setting very high (aa high, af 4 - in farcry configuration)

and i just tried doom3 just now with 1280x1024 res - set to ULTRA HIGH - on everything except AA set to 0 and all i can say was... im really impressed!!

i think this card is very good for anyone who is looking not more than 1280x1024 as u can max it out...

btw i was runnin on p4 2.6c@3.0, 4x256 kingston value ram, p4p8x mobo,
chaintech AA6800
