We won't know for sure until the biopsy(sp) reports come back in two weeks. Laurie (my wife) has had these red spots on her face/chest and back for a couple months now. The first Dr Laurie saw said it was rosasha(sp), but the medicine did'nt work and it has gotten worse. She saw a diff Dr yesterday and he said the first Dr was off with her diagnosis. This new Dr said it is either Lupus or Caner and niether one is a good thing. Laurie had a class four cancer found after a papsmear checkup on her utirus and that was removed 15 yrs ago, so there is some history with cancer. Also not a good sign.

We are hoping for the best (Lupus) and that it is controlable. Either way its going to be a rough two weeks in this house. I'll update this post as we learn more.

I want thank you all in advance for your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully this is just a scare but we just don't know. Keep Folding folks and lets find some cures.

Sorry to hear this. Skin cancer breaking out in that many areas would have to be very agressive but the only person, that I know, that had lupus did not make it.

Tismedt, if it is lupus and not skin cancer feel free tom PM me. My younger sister has been fighting lupus since she was 13, and is now 22 and healthy, married, and has a 6 month old baby boy. I may be able to offer some insight into the disease. My thoughts and prayers are with you man. Fold on...

(That's strange? I posted here yesterday and it's gone?)

Again,
I am really sorry to hear about your wife. This is the reason why I do my best at Folding in hopes of someday helping to find a cure.

I want to thank you all again for the kind words and prayers. Whatever the outcome of this I will always look here for advice. My hopes are that this is not either of the two things the Dr mentioned, but just a allergic reaction to something. But its been going on for months so I have only a little hope for this. The Dr also told Laurie to stay inside out of the sun and or heat. Its been near or over 100* for the last three days and we don't have AC so she is understandably miserable. We have a nice doughboy pool in the back yard but she can't go swimming because of the stitches from the biopsys. At least the weather is supposed to cool off in the next couple days so that will help her attitude some. To top it all off you may have seen posts by me about me shattering my heel. I'm still on cruches and heeling up from that. Theres so much I'd like to do for her but am unable too. Boy oh boy when life deals you tough cards to play its hard to make em winners. Life just sucs right now. I'm certain it will get better in the long run but its just so damn hard right now.

If it makes you feel any better, you totally kicked my ass in our private Folding competition from last year. We were neck and neck for about 2 months, then I dropped away.

You won.

I hope it turns out to be nothing. A friend of mine had skin cancer (she was a lifeguard) and just had the mole removed. She has had no further complications since then other than an indent on her shoulder where it was removed. Needless to say she is no longer a lifeguard at the beach.

My thoughts are with you and your family.

Laurie has had several moles removed also. Two on her face (leaving scars)and one from her back. But this looks way different then anything I have ever seen. The red spots she has are anywhere from tiny specks to raised spots over an inch long.

So we wait.............................................. .................................................. ...........

The waiting is the toughest part man. I wish you all the strength in the world to just keep going. A brighter day will come and we all support you through the dark one.
