I connected the L7 on my duron for a Vcore of 1.85. I then went into my BIOS and changed my CL to3 and DRAM Clock to 133. I then set the jumpers on my board for 133 FSB. Now when i reboot it will POST but I get a CHECKSUM Error. Now is that error due to my RAM being PC-100 and trying to run it at 133? If it is my RAM keeping me from posting I will go get a stick of 133. One more question. My CPU runs 32C IDLE and 49C Full Load. When I get my CPU to run 133mhz FSB and 1.85Vcore will my Gloabal WIn FOP38 and front case fan be enough to keep it cool? thanx for everyone's time.

It is quite possible that it is indeed your memory which is holding you back as most Durons including mine run happily on a 133 mhz FSB and higher. I have a FOP 32 with YS-Tech fan on my Duron which appears to work well and keeps it cool, considering the FOP 38 is better than what I have it should be suitable for cooling the Duron however I can not comment on how well due to the fact that we have no idea of what speeds you are aiming for and as such all you can do is try it and watch your tempratures

seems like its a ram problem since everytghing is fine at 100mhz, right?
In the boot process the bios rom loads some data in to certain memory addresses, the cpu then starts exacuting that data. If the memory is clocked to high it may incorrectly store the data and since there are errors the cpu will fail to excacute the data rewsulting in an error. this is not too un common that memory is clcked to high and it fails some times resultig in either lower performance or stablity. Get some good crucial ram or some pc150.

The FOP38 should be enough for a Duron, just be sure to use some AS2.

since my mobo only allows FSP's of 100,112,and 133.. im shooting for 133. i cant adjust the multplier with my mobo. so i just want to get 7*133=931. thats all im shooting. it runs fine at 100 and 112. i just wanted some conformation that my RAM is whats holding me back and i thank all of you for your help.it has been most apprecited. and i am new to the forums and i just want to say i have so far enjoyed my time here.. :)
