I recently bought my x800 xt and after a tricky installation due to my motherboard [asrock K7vt2] all was going well. But sometimes when i play games like planetside etc, i get these flcikering red check squares in lines coming down my screen. They are in a long line of a chess board sequence about 1.5 insches apart. I have no idea what is causing this and any info would be great

you are artifacting either your computer is too hot ambient or you have a bad card. post your temps and weather you can keep you finger on you hs/f on your vid comfortable. warm is normal.
if its warm then send the card back. if its hot put a case fan in. :P or you can opt for a vid card cooler.

59c is kinda high, not high enough to artifact though...try pulling the card out and cleaning the agp contact points with some alcohol...let it dry then stick it back in nice and tight...if that dont help then it might be defective.
