What's going on with these forums? I had to re-register in order to post. Anyway, here is my story about H2O cooling. I bought a CVT model 4 case, an Iwill kk266 mobo, a 1.4 ghz T-Bird, a Gainward GF3, a IBM 60GXP 40 gb hdd, an Aopen 52x CD reader, a Plextor 16/10/40A, and 640 mb of Mushkin 3+ SD-Ram and several other items. I had grand plans to H2O cool and O/C my 1.4 ghz T-Bird without all of the fan noise. To do this I bought 4 very quiet Sanyo Denki 43 cfm fans for my CVT case, along with a 120mm Panaflo for my DD Cooling Cube. I put the whole system together and realized that the computer became a monster that could not be moved. All of the hoses, the pump and Cooling Cube outisde the case because they would not fit inside the case made the setup unmanageable. My wife began to think that I was certifiable, well that part may be true, and I began to see the value of air cooling once again. I bought a Glaciator and am now running fine, 37 idle and 45 full load, at 1.535 ghz (11.5 x 133) on my T-Bird. This is where I can help someone out. I have an Eheim 1048 pump, about 10 feet of 3/8" ID silicone hose, a DD Maze II block and Cooling Cube and the 120mm Panaflow fan up for grabs. All I ask is money to cover my shipping cost, about $3-$6 total I guess. I will empty out the H2O/Dye-lite/Water Wetter mixture and carefully wrap the Maze II. The maze II was placed on my T-Bird and may need some very light lapping, maybe not. The moderators can have first dibs at this stuff and may move this post to another section if it does not belong here. Please email me or reply if interested. I will pick a winner, hopefully a moderator, and list them here. Thanks. Mark

Can you feal the giving spirit here at Overclockers.com even though it isn't around Christmas. That gives me an idea, we should give away our old parts we have no use for at Christms time. We would be the only site on the net that celebrates the holiday by gift giving.

I think that this is a awesome idea
Why not since over the years I am shure many of you will collect many odds and ends that someone else could put to better use. It only costs a few bucks to ship stuff via us mail so lets give it a try.

Hmm... Be cautious. Sounds like one of those too good to be true incidents. Just a warning

I would love to have the setup to give to a friend of mine. We just built him a new system from the ground up. This is his first computer since his p1 133 so he has sank alot of money into it. He realy wants to go for water cooling but cant afford it right now due to all the other expences. If I could get that cooling rig I would love to post pictures of his case (which we are moding) with your rig.
The computer so far

512mb crucial 2100
2 40 gig ibm deskstars radied (striping)
Morpheus geforce 3
This (http://www.ditcorp.com/desc/csfs-710.htm) case but black. We have also painted the inside GOLD. We want the case to somewhat resemble a 70s pimp :)

Like most people here.. I would like to express my interest in your watercooling setup.
However.. I would also like to point out that all is not lost if you wish to overcome those hurdles that you mentioned. If you notice in the picture I posted of my setup.. the entire watercooler is mounted in a Lexan box that is underneath my case. The hoses are ran to the top of the box and the bottom of the case and connected with 2 Parker non-spill connectors. This allows me to disconnect the 2 units and move them about VERY easily. It would also allow the mounting of a watercooler in very small cases (or rather outside of very small cases).
Just something to consider.. you could build an enclosure and secure a couple of non-spill couplers. Would solve your problems, I think. Let me know if you need help locating some couplers (I work as a machinist for Parker--Quick Coupling Division).
James
p.s. I'm like anyone and would love to have free watercooling stuff... but.. I would hate to lose a fellow watercooler :( .
that is an awesome cooling setup, naeleros!! you've done a kickass job there, man! :) :) :)
uber impressive...

Well, mfisher1967, You should bump this to the mods - see if they want to run a wee competition.......
Very generous of you indeed.

I agree, get the mods in on it and make it a competition! that is the most fair way of doing it.

Fight it out til the end!
lol This guy is going to have to make a hard choice on who gets it.
Bender, I like that gift-giving during the holiday season idea. Just make sure that it's isn't called Christmas exclusively - there may be Jewish, Islamic, etc., on the board who might be offended.
Perhaps all the people with extra things could e-mail a certain place, or pm someone in charge of the gift giving thing. In the e-mail, they would tell what they have, and then what they want. Then, the person coordinating the entire thing could arrange things so that everyone is happy.
I'll do it, if you guys can't.
Just a thought.

Why not donate the items to a local school. I think it would be a good 'science project' for some science/chemistryclass. I like the idea of giving old equipment as gifts at Christmas time also. The stuff we have would be much more current than the old 486 and pentium donations that schools usually get. just something to think about because to be honest most people on this site probably have the $ to buy things but many school age children and their schools do not.

I would recommend that the contest be truly random. No favorites just because we are slaves to our jobs here. :)
Perhaps you can track the contestants, put an end date on the contest, and then use Shadow's random drawing program to draw the winner.
I'll stick this thread, but if someone if someone on the OC staff object, they may pull it down. That's a very nice offer.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys but mfisher1967 offered me the parts last night. Maybe we can still have that death match just for the heck of it. A good old pool joust seems like a good way to have some fun. Don't worry I won't forget all my friends at overclockers.com around Christmas time.
Hmm.. I know I've got an unused Voodoo2 somewhere around here.

I vote for a CS tourney (better yet, TFC...not a lot of people play that anymore)
I thought mfisher would give away one item per person, so that way more people would be happy :) Oh well

I noticed your giving away at Radeon 8500 over at Rage3D (http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33604443)
Pretty giving of you hombre, especially due to the fact that its not Christmas and your Xmas spiirit migrated to the rest of the year. :)
