AMD and SSE commands?

I read in some article can't remember wich, it said that AMD is going to implement the SSE/SSE2 commands into their chips?

Would it make a big difference betwin those chips and the chips that doesn't support SSE?

For those applications that Intel excels in and AMD comes up a little short, it would even the playing ground.

As of now AMD can still hold its own even though it doesn't carry those instructions.

Program designers are still behind as it is, in Intel's case, in making programs that actually take advantage of the new instructions.

It could only make AMD better but they're not exactly being missed at the moment.

I hear the new palominos/MP's will have SSE on them.

Yep, all Morgan and Palo core chips have SSE implemented. I read a Morgan 1 GHz review somewhere though that said right now a lot of socket A boards arent recognizing those chips as such, so all we're seeing benefit from an AthlonMP or a Morgan is the hardware prefetch.... BIOS updates should remedy this for a lot of mobos though. With the 1 GHz Morgan out and available, these BIOS updates should be written and available relatively soon.
