I'm using RedHat 7.1, and as of last week, I was using kernel 2.4.8, which worked great. I saw that 2.4.9 was out so I patched it in. Now everything works well as usual, except for NTFS support. Seems that if, in 'make menuconfig', I choose to have NTFS read-only support built-in or as a module, I will get an error (I forget what I said) with NTFS. Bottom line, I removed NTFS support in the kernel config, recompiled, and now all is well, esp since it wasn't that important. Anyone else have this prob?

I have had problems with NTFS in the past so now when I dual boot I use fat32 instead so I don't have to deal with it. Right now I am doing this with XP/SuSE7.2 this is my play machine so fat32 is ok on it.

let someone at www.kernel.org know about it. They will fix the error in 2.4.10
