I was running at 1320 and running 31c idling but now recently i been running like 45 idling. It was running fine for about a week and blam it started locking up and overheating.I used pencil trick to unlock, could the markings be rubbing off or something?I had multiplier 11x and fsb like 117/39.What could be the problem? Thanks for your help

No the markings shouldnt have an affect on heat, how is your case circulation?

How many case fans do you have?

I have one case fan. Its in the back of the case.and its blowing not in the case but out. What about thermal grease build up,I know I did a very thin layer but some excess was left like off the core of the processer. Like close to the L1 bridges.

Try removing all the grease and reapplying it in a extreamly small layer!

I recommend a silver based thermal compound.

i high recommend getting artic silver thermal paste, it is simply the best, you also should have some more case cooling, looks like you are going to have to drill some holes and slap in a few fans, i recommend 4-5 fans for intakes and 3-4 for blowholes, you should have about 20% higher air going in then out of your case

I think you need more exhaust. You wana get the hot out right?

So more case fans will lower the cpu temp. How much you think? How many degrees if I add 4 fans.Whats a good site to get case mods, etc.

well i that actually depends on the size and type of fan. like delta fan is pretty good but its loud. Also what is your room temperature?

Try our old favorite www.google.com and enter "case mods". You should have 100-150 cfm coming in and at least 100 cfm going out, so a good 120mm each end or some mediocore 80mm, but fans are cheap!! If you have a pic of your case, we can give you some ideas. YS-Tech is a very good brand and Adda is also.

Never had much luck with such high FSBs on the KT133 chipset, but then again, SBLive isn't a great campanion to the Abit board
