ouch. I would have gotten one of those letters 3 times so far with my service and servers. Gotta love the 1.5/896 dsl service.


How much more is biz class cable for you?

better be carefull....could get much more expensive than corp rates which generally start at 100 month and go up from there....

Ouch, I have heard of ISPs getting on ppls cases for sucking 10-20GB or more a month. I just never saw proof... Better go on a download diet. :)

If you wanna watch your bandwidth you can download programs that keep records for you. I got one on my firewall/ server.

that sucks but my service now has unlimited bandwidth usage and i could not download enough to even get close to 20gigs... dang...

It might be the kinds of things he is DLing too, since they can see that when they investigate the account, they might be just covering their ass.

SavageBasher: I run on a DSL connection and I regularly pull in anywere from 20-40GB's of data every month and I've never seen any complaints. I wonder what your ISP conciders to be acceptable monthly usage? Have you stayed with them or have you transfered to a different provider?

I would be very very mad..if my ISP sent me a "Dear John" letter!! I have a couple downloadable movie services(very legal). DL'ing more than 50 gigs a month is very easy to me, I DL over 100 movies a month an watch almost every one(sometimes I download them twice), but I am on a fat pipe. My connection is better than my PC. :O
