I've got a strange problem with my new computer: When I try to restart the system, everything shuts down normally, and then it won't even POSTor load Windows I have to turn it off with the power switch & turn it back on. If I shut it down completely in the normal fashion, everything is OK. everything seems to be running normally. I've tried different BIOS settings & run varrious diagnostics & everything appears normal.
System Specs:
• CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.8C Northwood.
• Motherboard: Asus P4C800-E Deluxe w/ V-Dimm & Droop mods
• Memory: 1024MB (2x512) Mushkin Lvl. 2 PC3500 (Winbond BH5).
• Video Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon 9500np w/ softmod & Omega 2.5.58 drivers.
• CPU Cooling:Thermalright SP94 w/ Delta FFB0912HHE 92mm x 38mm fan & spacer.

Current Settings:
• CPU: 3.80GHz (272 FSB) Hyperthreading enabled
• V-Core: 1.568V
• Memory: 320 (5:4) Dual Channel enabled, Performance mode enabled; Turbo enabled; Timings @ 2-2-2-6
• Video card: Core 375 MHz, Memory 300 MHz

Any help will be appreciated!

sounds like a issue with the PSU, or the switch on the case

what is your PSU?

yeah check the button on your casr, make sure you got it into the mobo right and where its supposed to go, and make sure the button itself is working right.

Power on/off button is OK. PSU is a new PC Power & Cooling Turbo 510W.
The trouble is, when I first put this system together, I could get it to boot into Windows at 280 FSB, but iit wasn't stable. I backed it off to 275 FSB, & it was OK. Everything seems fine at 275 FSB except it won't Reboot. Now, it's being difficult at 272 FSB. Max temp I've seen has been 44°-45°C while running Prime 95. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Everything seems to be seated & connected just fine. Other than not rebooting, there doesn't seem to be any problem. I'm wondering if it might be a software problem.
