2.14V on a TBird 1.4GHz?

I still consider myself a relative no0b in the AMD world when it comes to stuff like this but I'm dying to hit 1.73GHz with this thing. I know it really wants to.

I get to the first Windows 2000 startup screen and the bar goes across then I freeze. Temps are in the low-mid 40s and don't go over 50C unless it's super hot outside.

I tried 2.04V and was afraid to go with more until I asked around. CPU database lists, I think, only two entries into the teens as far as voltages over 2.0 go, so I was leery to go further.

I'm tempted to just try it but being as broke as I am at the moment I can't afford to burn that thing up.

Thanks...

I have seen others here using higher than that, so I guess as long as you can keep it cool you will be ok.

I think it would be the same as asking how safe is using 2.0v on a P3.
My thinking is if you can't afford to replace it then is it worth any risk?

For the sake of all that is sacred to overclocking I have to say...

Yes.

Haha.

My little 1 gigger has seen 2.05 volts and did not weep at all, I could take it up to 2.17 if I had a bigger set of B***s. When they come out with the SOOPER-DUTY Swifty I may try that.

I've been running my vcore volt at 2.08-2.1 through my Tbird 1.2
for quite some time now. Temps stay within reason to!

This is exactly why I haven't even upped my core voltage on my 1.2 more than +.1. Maybe when I have some more cash , or a backup K7 I wount be so scared to up the volts.

Good Luck Jon
