Radeon 9600 fan

I need a Radeon 9600 stock cooling fan. I had added a new heatsink a while back and the card recently broke. I know that it is a void of warrenty to remove the fan. I seemed to have lost the stock fan so now i cant send it to them to be fixed. Im sure many of you know where to get origional fans. question, did putting the new hs on there break the card? Or did anything you do to the card possibly break it? If the answer is yes then this would be a major ripoff to the company. I am all for getting my stuff fixed, but I do take responsibility for my own stupid mistakes. Just have to ask to make sure this is a legit sendback
