okay I have an unussually highly clocked 5700 that i think is like a 5700 Ultra without the ddr2!

anyways I had a fanless zalman sink on it, and i was setting up a water cooling system.

I switched cases and all and now my card isn't working, I tried to pull it out and the cheapo zlaman sink broke. I think what may have happened was trhe card was overheating (due to poor contact) and so it did not display. I am hoping that by installing a new cooler, I may be able to make the old dog work again

any suggestions?

btw what pyshically happend when I still had the zalman sink on is my monitors didn't come out of sleep mode (i have 2). But if I leftthe system off for 15 minutes the fist monitor would come on and then go back into sleep mode before it even lit up.

any suggestions?
thanks for posting!

ya sounds like it was overheating, hence why after leaving it off for 15 minutes (cooling down for 15) then turning it on it would display then overheat...it may still work, get some proper cooling on it and make sure you have a good thermal paste and proper contact with the core.
