I formatted a new laptop, and installed WinXP Pro on it. The problem is that all my Hardware (video card, Modem, Network components) are all detected, but the drivers are NOT installed.
Windows can't seem to locate a suitable driver without going online (which I can't do), so I'm not sure what to do, exactly.
The only solution I can think of is to reformat my drive, then reinstall the WinXP Home (including service packs) that came with my laptop...maybe the drivers are found in there. Then I'll install WinXP Pro over it.

of all the laptops that I've installed windows on I had to goto the manufacturers website and download the drivers from there.basicly I downloaded them and burnt them to CD on a different PC

Yeah, you either need the disks that came with the hardware or you need to download them... Did you expect to use MS drivers for everything?
It is always best to not use MS drivers unless you do not have an option.

I expected my manufactorer to include the drivers somewhere (I thought that they were included on the winXP Home cd). I can't access the internet on the notebook without installing the modem/network components!

Try putting your XP home CD in the drive and click out of the install. Then go into the Device Manager and let windows search your home cd for the drivers.

Have one of your friends download the network driver for your laptop, then install and update. You can then go online for the rest.
