Some of you may have already seen my overclocking results already, but to summarize....
A64 3000+ (NewCastle, CG)
Retail HSF
Asus K8N-E Deluxe w/ BIOS 1004.003
Max vDIMM is 2.7V
Kingston Hyper-X PC3700 (2x256MB) rated: 2.6V
Max overclock:
Sync: 3000+ @ 10x 245Mhz w/ 1.55V
DDR @ 245, 2.7V, 3-4-4-11
Async: 3000+ @ 10x 255Mhz w/ 1.575V
DDR @ 212.5, 2.6V, 2.5-3-3-11
Setting the FSB @ 260Mhz with 1.6V barely gets me to Windows before rebooting.
Knowing that 255Mhz is my theoretical maximum and vDIMM is maxed out at 2.7V, what is my best ram choice to run sync'd @ 255Mhz?
1) Kingston Hyper-X PC4000 or higher, which runs at 2.6V?
2) Geil Ultra Series PC4000 or higher?
About the Geil, it says the voltage support is 2.6V-3.1V. Does that mean it will run at it's rated speed with 2.6V?
