now i know my case is full of crazy wires everywhere but im in the middle of setting it up, then ill clean the wiring up, so excuse the mess.
this is where it fell off of

the one mosfet has always been up a bit like you see it but i wasnt worried about it but what kind of tim did they use?
its like tar or something,
so my question is, what will clean it off? what should i glue it back down with?

What is an OCZ Booster, anyway? What does it do?

it boosts the voltage to the ram, or if you want it just at stock it makes it more stable i hear.
i will be testing with and without it soon though. as far as loads and fluxuations.

Thermal tape is what they use on the back of those sinks. You can scrape it up with your finger nail and remove the sticky residue with some alcohol. You could put it back on with more thermal tape or thermal epoxy. You could also just try sticking it back on as is. Press down kinda hard to make sure it has good contact.

Sorry 'bout your problem, but at least nothing melted or burst in flames (boreing, but saves money).

I offer my personal tried-and-true super-secret (and somewhat hazardous to personal safety - just to keep things interesting) method of heatsink cleaning and attachment. Read all instructions first. :attn:

To Clean:
1) Get a can of Zippo or Ronson lighter fluid.
Dampen (soak) a paper towel with it.
Apply and rub on both the heatsink and die/chip until clean. May require several applications.
PUT OUT THAT CIGARETTE OR CANDLE ... oops, to late!
2) After everything is dry (a couple of seconds), repete the above with rubbing alcohol. Sorry, beer won't work.

To ReAttach:
1) Check that both the heatsink AND the chip/die are flat. Correct with very fine emery paper if not. Re-Clean if you do any sanding.
2) Buy and use Artic Silver epoxy as directed.

You should be good to go now (provided, of course, you didn't self-ignite during the process)

Wow, that would freak me out. That was like about three days ago. I took everything out of my case to do a vdd volt mod, and afterward, I plugged everything back in except apparently my cpu fan. I have like 10 fans, so all the wiring is a little complicated, but luckily since it is a Tornado, it's on a fan controller, so I turned my rig on and turned the knob to make sure my Tornado was running, and nothing. No increase or decrease. After a silent curse, I practically ripped the power cable out of the back to turn it off. I was breathing hard for a while after that. Even with a SP-97 that made me nervous.

im thinking i may need to epoxy down that one mosfet so they lay even, thats why it came off because one was propped up a bit.
it sucks because it took so long to calibrate that thing to get it within .09 on the voltage, as soon as i touch it it will change its so sensitive.
so i either got to get the mosfet to stay down,(i tried superglue and it wont stick for some reason) or cut the hs into 2 pieces so its able to lay flat on both mosfets.

i hear your woes with that if you just look at knob it seems to jump on mine.

have you tried to just press down on the mosfet to see if it would reseat itself?

wonder if it shipped like that or came unattached recently.

i clamped it down with super glue but it didnt stick. it came that way when i got it.
the calibration im talking about is reading the actual voltage the ram is getting with a digital multi meter and turning that tiny tiny screw under the lcd that changes the lcd numbers.
the heatsink came unattached recently, but its always been kinda jacked up on one side.
