We are happy to help all that are new to our 'sport'.
In order for us to help you as much as we'd like, however, we require a simple bit of reading available on this site. We have a few Beginner's Guides on the initial page of Overclockers.com that deal with the basics of overclocking. They are very basic but still provide you with enough knowledge to figure out what you're doing wrong or to get far enough that you need a little more advanced help to squeeze that little extra out of it.
Just read over those guides and if you have any questions just find this thread and reply to it. We'll be happy to help.
It's a job on its own to explain the basics over and over again. Hope you understand.
Welcome to the forums! Hope you decide to stick around and thanks for choosing us for what you need.

Without getting into a whole bunch of explanation as to why katmai chips don't go past 550 very easily... your chip is not a good overclocker. It probably won't be worth your time to try. Sorry for the bad news.
