Can I make it accept 3/8 ID? Does it have any threads on the outside or inside of the opening so I can screw on a 3/8 barb?

No it does not have threaded barbs. YOu have 2 options, 1; try to get the 3/8" hose over the 1/2" barb, will be tough but probably doable. 2; get 2 reducer fittings that go 3/8" to 1/2" and use those.

The pump will accept 3/8" ID hose, with some work. Tygon seems to be the easiest to get around it.

Nikshub is right about the barbs not being threaded,
But Laing makes noryl and brass impeller housings with threaded barbs.
Maybe contact them and find out where to get a hold of one....

I use a hair dryer and heat up the end for a few minutes then just slip it over. Tygon was easier than the ClearFlex.
