Hi,after my 1st UV Drawing here:http://metku.net/modgallery/detail.php?id=2456

I couldn't help wanting to do more! so as you can see I've added a bit of colour to the heatsinks and then decided to go ahead and paint the mobo, then got a little carried away and painted the side of the RAM and the dvd, dvdv rw drives, lol

The ink sorta got rubbed off the dvd drive with my hand when I was touching up the mobo :)

(The pics are a little blurry couldnt keep my hand steady enough, lol)

Anyway please let me know what you think!

Cheers,
Lee.

pretty nice but you should never put it on heatsinks, it only lessens their ability to dissipate heat

I still want to confirm that the gel ink is non-conductive so I can draw one line across multiple traces and I lack a multimeter to test.

yeh but he only put it on a tiny portion of the heastsinks, and its not that thick.

I doubt very much that the little bit of ink he put on it would change anything.

that looks pretty sweet, and welcome to the forums

Hi glad you all like it :D

I dont think the ink is conductive as I've drawn a line over multiple traces and everything has been fine, they coat most boards with a plastic coating too,so that should prevent it anyway ;)

Lol I never knew about that thread rhino56,got quite a lot of replys, cool

p.s.I used pens called Gel Intensity by BIC,yellow, green, orange, pink and the best glowing colours.Blue, black, purple or any other dark colours wont glow at all really.

Heres a link of the pens,so you know what to look for: http://tinypic.com/2tkqp

I was wondering if one could lightly coat the PCB/components with maybe a clearcoat after tracing with the pens to keep the colors from rubbing or flaking....anyone know of a non-conductive clear coat....i dont think polyethelyne will work....

now afet doing all that UV traces and glowing stuff
why didnt you color the CPU fan? i just find that pretty funny, just go paint it

lol I already have,well..not exactly. What I did was add a normal fan grill and used the gel pens on it,looks quite good, but my pen wouldnt work,I threw it on the floor, and guess wot, that made it worse,so the fan grill is still missing a bit of colour, once I get a new orange gel pen,I'll finish it and post some pics :)

draw designs on the fan blades themselves, like little tiny pictures or whatnot
