I recently installed a Vantec cck-6035D into my system and found it interesting that it levels at 48 degrees celcius for my cpu and 39 degrees celcius for my system temperature. I want to overclock but it doesn't seem smart to do it if those are my temps. Also, the system temperature rose and i was curious if anyone had the samething happen to them. Any input would help.
my setup is this 1gig T-BIRD, ABIT kt7a-raid, 40 gig 7200 UATA100 IBM, 15 gig 5400 Maxtor UATA60, elsa gladiac 32 mx, antec 300 watt cs, montego quadzilla, and a creative 56k modem.

You might wanna try Artic Silver 2 next time you pop off that heatsink. It works alot better than that white goop. What kind of case air-flow you have?

your ambient temps go up some because the hot air from the heatsink is being blown all over the place by the delta. Your case temps are awfully high, you should install some fans to improve your airflow. AS2 would be a great idea too!

I have a 60mm in the front. Think I should go with a 120mm?
"Is it a helicopter? A plane? No, it's my delta."

I doubt this is a good thing but my core value is 1.78 and it's not overclocked. Any suggestions?

if you only have a 60, you are getting no airflow then. I would go with a 92 or 120 in and an 80 or 92 out. Should dramitically drop your case temps and in turn the CPU temps.
My 2 coppers...
I would have to agree with what the rest have said so far, but I am a SERIOUS fan of lapping.... I know its not much but I had a stock fan on my 1.2 for awhile when I was still buildling the water-cooling rig, and I was worried about the temps so I ended up lapping the HS, and the temps dropped a good 6-8 degrees... So I say get the better air flow and lap the he11 outta the HS, might be lucky enough that that alone might drop it a decent amount until you get 'other' better cooling...

well i've gotten the cpu temp to be at 41 and the case temp to be 30 by opening the case and having my fan blow at it.:D
"wow, i can hear the delta from my living room"
