Hey every1. I have my whole parts list finished and will be ordering/building my first computer soon! Im so excited! I have a few questions before i build...

1. Are there any precautions i should take? I heard i need to "ground" myself...if so...how or where?

2. In what order do all the parts go in?(whihc goes first...second...third...etc

3. Should i hide wires while building...or do it later after its finished? If i hide them anytime...where should i hide them?

4. Is there anything else im forgetting?

5. Are there any websites i can get any of this information from?

THANKS ALOT to any one who posts a reply to this messege...it would be incredibly helpful.

P.S. If you need info on my build...see my signature...or just PM me or IM me

as for grounding, just touch a part of the case or a door knob.
as for order, I'd go mobo, processor, psu, heatsink, hard drives, video then memory. Attach the power cables to everything. something like that.

1. do what dicecca112 said
2. i'd do it in this order:

su in case
cpu in mobo
hs/f on cpu
ram in mobo
mobo in case
hd in case
cd/dwd rom/ burner in case
vid card in mobo
other pci cards in mobo

3. hide the wires after everything is in the case and bolted down. best thing to do would be to hide them while you are hooking everything up. open drive bays, top/ bottom, or opposite side of the case (behind the mobo tray) would be good places to hide wires.

4. watch out for land sharks

5. toms hardware probably has some guides on it and here' s a nice guide that might prove helpful --> http://www.tweak3d.net/articles/howtobuildapc/

Make sure that you apply the thermal paste to the processor since it is your first time double check that every thing is plugged into the right spot before you turn the computer on. The September issue of PC World explains how to put one together. Also they make wrist bands that will make sure that you are electrically grounded.
