Anyone know if it is possible to Dual regular tbirds? Or do you have to have Palominos.

I've heard that it's definitely not supported by AMD... but that it's been done. I've been thinking about a dual setup myself but I'll probably wind up going for dual Morgans.... I'm also thinking I am going to wait for dual CPU boards from a couple of other mfr's, I am not impressed with the O/C options on the Tyan boards so far. Hopefully Abit or Asus will throw a dual board in that has all the overclocking tweaks in it.

Come November I'm going to pick up a TYan board because I've got two 1ghz ARGA stepping tbirds that won't overclock for anything. I've decided to build a bulletproof Linux server for ftp/filesharing and stuff like that (folding too). I would definitely LOVE to see Abit come out with a Dual AMD board that rocks for overclocking.

Abit definitely rocked the enthusiast/small business server market with the BP6..... if they're smart they'll pump out a dual socket A board that has SoftMenuIII and maybe a few extras like onboard IDE RAID but I think the important thing would be the price point - get it under $200. Any Abit insiders around here? With their SMP history, (BP6 and VP6) I'd think a dual board for socket A would be the first thing they'd think of when the 760MP chipset debuted.....

Any AMD cpu that uses the socket A format works in smp

Ya it should work fine, and ya it would be great to get a dual socket A board for around 200 compaired to 500.

yah i have read that the new socket A cpus are awsome for SMP... all durons /athlons 200/233s work....i saw some where it was soo reliable that u could SMP 2 tbirds at differnt clock speeds and it still worked...now thats prity kool i might do that...just pick up a duron 700 for 40CDN or so off thenet i think there 25US and get 2 of those overclocked to 950mhz and get myself some nice server action goign hehe folding also

I haven't got any word about Asus or Abit on a dualy board. But I DO know that MSI is working on a dual socket A board that will likely have some pretty good tweaking/overclocking options.

Supposed to be relatively cheap too (compared to the Tyans)
