Have any of you fellas used WPCredit to enhance RDRAM performance with the i840 chipset?
I found one setting @ "offset 51_ bit 2" to enable cycle rule. This helped boost FPU right up to where the reference system in sandra is............the ALU could be improved further......I think. That is still short by about 100mb/s according to sandra.
before the change.......ALU=390mb/s............FPU=535mb/s
after the change.........ALU=435mb/s.............FPU=570mb/s
I did quite a bit of seaching......the net and the .pcr file in the proggy for the i840....just nothin' really grabbin' me.
Sandra shows that the memory is set to 1-way interleaving. Is 2-way or 4-way possible with RDRAM? Is this setting hardwired or BIOS dependent? If not......how can a guy educate himself as to what, where and how?
