yeh...I syncronized my clock and then I just looked at it again, and it was 1/2 hour ahead... this took about 2 hours to do. When I take a regular watch and start it at the same time as my windows seconds, my windows clock only takes about 50 seconds to make a complete minute....this makes for bad time. How do I fix this?!?!?!

Oh, and I did already check the post earlier and tried those steps...they didn't fix it.
I'm having your same problem, so although I do not know the solution, if you do end up finding a fix, please keep this updated. Thx.

The first thing that comes to mind is replacing the CMOS battery.
The second thing that comes to mind, after looking into it specifically, is that your mobo is known for this issue.
The third thing that came to mind was that there is actually a time tool that is made to troubleshoot this problem: issue this from command prompt w32tm /? and it will explain the available switches associated with the w32tm command.
The fourth thing that came to mind was that it was just your mobo, and 1 and 3 are not really needed, but useful information anyways.
The fifth thing that I realized, was that it was taking me too long to find what the fix was, and someone else would hopefully pick up where I left off.
The last thing I realized, was that CMOS batteries only cost a few bucks or so, so replacing that as your first troubleshooting step may not be a bad idea anyways.
Good luck. :)

one thing that i would check would be to make sure that you are in the right time zone setting on your computer. who knows. maybe you are set to be in one of those time zones that only is ahead 30 minutes instead of a full hour :) it's worth checking.

I've experienced this particular problem, and it turned out to be the mobo with a problem.
It wouldn't accelerate the clock always, just ocasionally it would freak out, and race ahead until I totally shut down, unplugged the power, and restarted the puter. Then, no problem.

OMFGBBQ!!!!1111oneone It's A CONSPIRACY!
Look at the mainpage: www.ocforums.com
Down at the bottom, it shows the day when we had 993 members online... What actually happened is the mobo went wacky (battery died) and it quit keeping time, so people would log in and never get logged out. :)
That was EXACTLY a year ago from when this thread was posted. Wierd. :eh?:
