CS + Kyro II --> always 45fps

ok in counter strike with my 3d prophet 4500 i always get 45 fps ... doesnt matter if im playing in OpenGL or in Direct3d i always get 45fps
changed my resolution as well ... same in 500*... or in 1280
always 45fps
i dont know if the bug is cs's problem or my kyros
any ideas?

What is your max_fps set at in the config.cfg file?

If it's at 45 change it too 100. If not it sounds like a bug to me if the framerates seem good to your eyes.

maybe it's the monitor.......my fps maxed out at 70 fps stable....

omg thank you jon you were right it was set to 45 ... but how do i change it?
i put the cfg file in my textpad and put it to 100 and saved it but it wouldnt work

ok got it, changed it in cs itself ... wooohoew frames went from 45 to 85
force 4 anti aliasing enabled 1280*9.. ... this is the bomb ... thx

ok sorry ... it aint my intention to keep on posting but my kyro goes higher then 100 fps ... and i cant set my fps higher ... what should i do ... i enabled everything and im playing @ highest resolution

i know but just think about it ... what if i could get 120fps ... all options on highest res. in cs ... that would be kickass
but do you think cs just stops at 100fps or did i use the wrong command?

set the max fps to 500

no i tried setting them higher then 100 but they just didnt show ... 100 was the limit :( ... :D

max_fps "100" but higher then that is impossible ... grr

While you in counterstrike, open the console and type this in:

fps_max 100

Also type this in as well:

fps_modem 100

If you still have problems, disable the vsync check out your fps by typing net_graph 2 and then enable vsync after you typed in the commands mentioned above.

the CounterStrike engin wont go past 99fps sense it wasnt made for more thin 2 digits

well it might but it will always say 99fps

nope it actually shows 100fps so it shows 3 digits ... maybe its changed since the update :)
btw what you said about the fps and the modem thing ... if you dont use the " around the numbers they will not work
