Tell me how to set my bro's K6-2 500 and my mom's celly 600 up so they can give me a hand while i sleep. They dont use them when they sleep, so they might as well work hard too! i use EM, so if anyone can tell me HOW to make these comps work for me, let me know. i need it in absolute MORON terms, so even a 4y/o can still close it.....

Oh ya, and can 486s run folding? early Pent's as well? i have a lab full of 'em, i'd take weeks for them to do anything, buy it's more WU's outta my way.....

so help me help myself in folding :) i'll be 1000wu's by mid october if i get these comps helping :)

I know EM runs in Stealth mode but I don't know how to set that up, as I've never used EM.....

As far as 486's and Pentium 1's, they need to be able to finish a WU in 3 days - so I am thinking that a 200 MHz or so P1 would be ok but anything less might be a waste of time. My bro's K62 450 takes about 23-24 hours a protein if that gives you any kind of guide....

And as always, more MHz means faster WU's. Mayeb you could just convince your family to run it... even if not under your name, on the Overclockers.com team.

I think that if you ran a 233mhz comp for the entire time it had to fold that unit, you could complete it. But this is just a supposition. I dont know about anything lower.

hey man dont waste your time just get f@h and EM on 1 computer like pentium166 or lower and let it do 3frames by that time it should give u the result on how long aprox it will take for the WU....as long as the packet time is not in red your good its below the 3 day limit....... i am not part of seti@home anymore but if u still wana help out overclockers.com u could crunch for the seti team if your not able to complete in the timelimit....some time in the next week i will get a aprox time for a Pentium166 with 32mb EDO ram i will dig it up outa my basement hehe

I've got a P166 and a P133 laying around, in addition to a Cyrix M2 333 and a K62 500... wonder what I could get the P1's and the Cyrix chips to in my MVP3G2... :)

Since my SK6 is coming next week I'll have a spare FOP32 to play around with..... we'll see at any rate.

wow 250mhz from a 166....the highest i got mine was 200mhz and it wasnt that stable i got an original Pentium 3.5v NO MMX heh whats kinda dumb that Intel had a weird way of making Pentium chips only like 5% of the chips are real pentiums the rest are remarked it was one stepping made for 200 for no mmx and 233 for mmx....if it wasnt rock stable they would drop it a bit 200mhz down to 180 or 166....and bump up the voltage a bit if requird.... but there are so few 200mhz pentiums that run at 3.3v with out mmx....most of them run at 3.5v and all mmx cpus run at 3.3 volts.... i am not sure how AMD did there PR rating for the K5 but if anybody has i webiste that kinda explains how they did it compared to intel cpus....plz post it for me just becuase i got some time to kill and why not learn abit about microprocessor history heeh

there all cremic tops right? so are u able to use arctic silverII even tho u cant see the die?

well i acutally got my pentium166 just like 2weeks after pentium 200 was released i assume mine is a 200 that wasnt up to PAR and i kinda fried my mobo when i tried to overclock it i got it up to 200mhz then it was 166 then 150 and it went to 75mhz....i was like wtf and then the next tiem i booted up it dident post i think i killed my bios chip ...beucase it was auctually set to 166 when it started to drop every time till it died lol....i would love to see a pentium 200 or 166 overclocked to like 1ghz with super duper cooling just to see how good it is compared to todays cpus as in raw proformence..... becuase pentium MMX was better then the first PentiumIIs clocked at same clock speed.

ExtremeOC. The first thing to do is actually set up the client like you did on your PC. I tried this on a computer that I built for my dad and fah wouldn't shut down automatically when he turned off the PC. Windows would say that 'the task was not completed, would you like to end task or wait'. I believe that there is a file that needs to be copied to the fah directory that fixes this but I can't remember what it was since I just removed the client. Maybe someone else knows what this file is or what I'm talking about.
