I just bought the above card, and i'm having some issues with it @ it's rated speeds. basically the ram speed isn't stable at BFG's settings. If i raise the mem speed a tick, then back a tick and hit the 'Test' button, ~ 9 out of 10 times it fails. (i've tried multiple drivers, and tweak utilities)

Before i put my card in i noticed that i could see light between the ram and heatsink thermal pads. i torqued the screws down slightly, which improved it a little better, but there is still some gaps.

I emailed BFG and they suggested i call them and return the card, but tomorrow the card goes back to Best Buy.

I was just wondering if anyone else had these issues and happen to notice if they had a gaps between the ram and heatsink thermal pads?

(btw, this hte the version with the 2 blue fans and copper heatsink)

Sounds like one slipped through the cracks. Definatly have it replaced.
I purchased the Evga 6800 GT and didn't notice any air between the ram and sink.
BFG makes good cards don't loose faith in them for one screw-up.

these new bfg hsf isn't designed very well, i had one my BFG fx5900, i found that the heatsink doesn't make good contact with the gpu and some of the heatsinks, the reference design is much better, with the gainward and leadtek having the best hsf's

Hmm.. what if I were to take the heatsink off my 6800 GT OC, and apply some Artic Silver... then put it back on. Will this improve my temperatures? Even though the temps are very good right now all this hate towards the new hsf has me wondering.

I posted a thread on this. The result was about a 6-8c drop from the stock junk they put on there. I can't promise you the same results but expect a good improvment over the stock junk.
