If you have or can afford 2 hard drives of the exact same brand and type then I would definately get an Abit KG7 RAID and run raid 0. That is a GREAT motherboard, highly overclockable and in my opinion it is extremely stable if not the most stable mb out there right now.

Im running an MSI KT266-proR with a 1.4 T-bird and it is stable at
1670. Nice board OC pretty easy.

Epox 8K7A is an overclockers dream. I have a couple of them running, and overclocking them was easy.

Epox 8K7A rev 1.0 1.2MP @ 1.512 (168x9)
Epox 8K7A rev 1.1 1.2MP @ 1.350 (150x9)

On that motherboard there is a built in raid controller(highpoint 370) So you have your IDE1 and IDE2 for whatever you like and there are two extra IDE3 and IDE4 to connect raid devices..

For instance:

I have:
IDE1 = MASTER-CDROM SLAVE-HARD DRIVE
IDE2 = MASTER-CDWRITER
IDE3 = MASTER HARD DRIVE
IDE4 = MASTER HARD DRIVE

the 2 drives on ide3 and ide 4 are both quantum fireball 20.5 giggers. They are set up as raid 0 stripping and I boot off of it. Basically when you get it all set up it will look like the C: is just one large drive with 40gigs but will run twice as fast. The hard drive on ide1 is a secondary hard drive I use to store crap. Its my D: and my two cdroms are e: and f:

For more information on the raid controller go to www.yahoo.com and type in abit kg7-raid.

After your system posts there is a raid bios as well. you press control H and set up RAID 0 for the two drives on ide3 and ide4. You set the PC to boot with ide3 and ide4. You install win2k on the drive on ide3.

yes it is on the motherboard. you set up RAID just likeyou set up your regular bios. There is a seperate post for the raid devices. The manual witht he mb has great instructions and there are some website with detailed insctructions as well. ou won't be dissapointed. I love this motherboard.
