What kind of memory should I get for a 2.8C? I'm at 232FSB on a Asus P4C800E-Deluxe which = 3.25Ghz. Thats with PC2700 value select Corsair. Timings are 2.5-4-4-8 and the devider is 5:4. The memory is runing 185.6Mhz Turbo enabled. U think my cpu's maxed? Is pc4000-4400 overkill in a system that wont likely see over 250 FSB? Please explain why. Thanks in advance guys.

If you don't plan on going over 250FSB then you won't need PC4000-4400. PC3700 will work well with your current overclock, but not all memory companies make PC3700. It doesn't matter much unless you're loyal to a certain brand. On the other hand, you can find some PC4000-4400 that's cheaper than PC3700. I have two 512MB sticks of PC2700 that cost $135 a piece. I could easily buy a stick of PC3200 for less than that. If you do find some decent priced PC4000-4400 atleast you won't be restricted later on if you change your mind about that 250FSB limit.

A benefit to buying PC4000-4400 is tighter timings.

What is your budget? For $250-$300 or so, you can pick up a gig of either Samsung TCCD based ram (see the PQI 2-2-2-5 thread) or Micron based Crucial Ballistix (see the Ballistix thread), which will run 250 plus at far better timings than any of the PC4000 currently available. Both of these would work to a tee on your Asus with the 2.8.

They both will probably top out at 260-270 range which sounds like plenty for your rig. Alternatively, lots of guys have been using the Komusa Adata branded PC4200 which sells for about $257 per gig on rigs with 2.8 and getting great results.

Memory

Have you guy's seen any 2.8C processers do over 250 FSB? I'm just wondering if the CPU is maxed and would like to "match" the memory to the CPU. I don't want to spend excess dollars on memory that is meant for lower multipliers and a high FSB(2.4C). Possibly the memory is holding back the OC, so should I loosen the timings and devider and see first? Oh yea money is'nt a problem, I just don't wan't to "throw it away'' on something that can't be utilized.

Well I guess I'm just saying I'd like to match this CPU and memory for now and am wondering how can I max out the processer with this memory to figure out what Fsb I'll be hitting. Am I right by relaxing the timings more and using a 3:2 devider? Thanks.
