hey guys, i have an averatec 3150h lappy. 256mb of ram wont cut it, this one only supports pc2100 ram.

I was after this one:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-145-484&depa=0

its corsair pc2700, but i dont see why it wouldnt work in pc2100 speed and i saw it because its the cheapest corsair...

but 10 min ago i saw the following twinmos:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-218-510&depa=0

its also pc2700 and the cheapest of them all!!! i once got a twinmos dimm and it looked very good quality, but i want to be sure if $5 cheaper is worth the risk (if any)...

thnx in advance

For laptops I don't see the value in purchasing expensive ram whatsoever. The pc 2700 would certainly work fine but the 2100 would work as well. I'd say go for whatever is the cheapest you can find. Those prices are pretty good for sodimm's so I'd go for the twinmoss. Possibly they have some Kingston that would be cheaper?

If you are looking for RAM for a lappy, then you really only need be concerned that it will run OK at stock. In which case as long as it has a brand on it, I would go with it. I still tend to avoid no-name memory, but even the budget brands will run fine at stock.
