View Full Version : Redid Sk-6
I got The
sk-6 a week ago and used the bs tape that came wiht it.
I was'nt to happy with the temps I was getting 60c at max!(but its better than 70c w/a coolermaster)
So i redid it with some thermal goop(from radioshack)Made sure it was nice and flat and now my temps are 48c at max!!!
I just want to say that this forum rocks!!! And I would have fried my new T-bird 1.2 without all the post's here and all the help!!

You say right man, overclockers.com is really COOL!
About the thermal pad at the bottom of the cooler, well are CRAP! better to take off, clean very well the base of the cooler with aceton and reapply a thin layer of thermal paste

i bought my SK6, it came with the pads on the side <i could install them, but didn't> it also came lapped...don't know if it came from the factory like that or if the company did it, but it was like a mirror, nice and flat...temps dropped by 10C
I just need to get a better fan in the case I have now and I well be preety cooool !

My SK6 never came with the thermal pad on it. I really should lap mine though. Have'nt had much time for anything lately.

as in lapping the SK6 the way it is..would a grid 1000 be enough?
and whatabout wet/dry? I believe I have that right now.
or should I get an even higher grid?
