if i put a delta on the back side of the mobo, will this mess up the temps? when i did this, i got like 38 for cpu temp... but someone told me that its prolly not hte actual temp...
how come though? mbm5 read it that way...

Well, if you are speaking of a fan to cool the back of the Cpu socket on Mobo, it's absolutly a good way to cool the Mobo/Cpu and increase the OC ways!

would this skew the cpu temps? if so by how much? would it be hotter? or cooler? than the measured temp? how can i test this?

it would totally skew temps. I read this once about a guy doing it. He got an 8C drop in his cpu temps. Now, how in the world could airflow that never ever hit the core of the CPU or the heatsink on the other side reduce temps that much? The thermistors in there can be fooled pretty easily, and this is one way to do it. I can't think of this reducing the true core temps one lick.
I can see it dropping them a little bit.. but not that much... I think that it would screw up the temp reading mostly... It would cool down under the cpu not the actual core... therefore altering the actual reading..... this could be an interesting test though... get an external temp gauge and hook it up and check it out before the extra backside fan was installed then see how much the difference it would cause... understand what I mean?
2 stars!!! lol sorry

i understand... i cant find a place to put a thermal probe on teh iwill kk266-r though... maybe i'll bring my abit 2 over next to it... and read using that probe...
naw.. too hard, no room on this messy desk for 2 monitors....
i'll see what ican do...
if anyone knows where i can attach a probe on the kk266-r, it would be very helpful...
