after doing some research, i finally decided to try overclocking, and i'm in the process of building the system. i have iwill kk266 motherboard, two Atlas Precision 256MB ram, and voodoo5. i will buy 1.0 ghz t-bird . however, i can't decide wether i should get the one with 200 fsb or 266 fsb. i would appricate it if anyone can give me some advice on which one i should buy.

Doesn't really matter as their both basically the same chip with different multipliers set to run at different bus speeds.

I would go with the 266 chips since they are actually cheaper.

Yes, the 266 is cheaper and your motherboard supports 266 FSB, so right out of the box the 266 will perform better than the 200 would

that depends..

its true that the 266 vers will have a performance edge out of the box over the 200.. but with the 200, you will be able to overclock to a higher core speed simply by going to 133FSB.. that way your PCI and AGP still stays within spec... but your core MHZ will increase. thats a + but the - is that the 200 chip is less likely to run at the higher FSB values. (ie 140+).

the 266 on the other hand.. with that one, you cant over clock it too easily, and it is less likely to go for a higher core speed value, but it is more likely that you will be able to bump up the FSB into the 140+ area.

provided your cards *cough*ethernet*cough* can handle that FSB. :D
