1. When my pc boots it says: Primary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed???? whats that? I have my ata-100 hd on ide1 but what is that?
2. On MBM there are 3 temp sensors:
Via686B-1
Via686B-2
Via686B-3
now how do I know which is which? I figured the high temp 1 is my cpu but what are the other 2? how can I differ from mobo to last one which is what?

Have you got your drive on a 40 wire cable by mistake?

In regards to your temp settings, using MBM, let ur machine come up to temp...the higher temp will of course be ur CPU, the next is your Pwr Supply and the lowest will be ur chassis. At least that's what mine is reading (Via686A)

k, thanx
On another note:
How many Prime95 test runs should I go through before deciding my load temps?
Also... What are some reasonable PSU temps?
Thanx all. I'll be quiet after the summer, lol

anyone know the answers to..
How many Prime95 test runs should I go through before deciding my load temps? AND What are some reasonable PSU temps?
When you were rounding, did you accidentaly cut a grounding wire in the cable?

don't worry I is not the prob, in fact, I tested it out with another 80pin cable I had just bought, brand new flat and it gave same line on startup, I can get into windows fine, HD is fine but I still don't know what it's talking about so I'm wondering...
I don't have that board so I've no specifics but I suggest you scrutinize every bios setting for something related to your hard drive controller. Couldn't hurt (unless it hurt you in which case it would hurt :D )

im not sure as to the amount of self tests but i do know that if you actally have some spare time you can download a single number from the primenet server and run it allthe way threw( this will take about a 1-2 weeks on a highend computer) and run it at priority 10 if that doesnt give you and average idea of what a cpu's heat will be at then i dont know what will.
if you dont have time for that you can always pick a factoring job they take about 3 days but i think there slightly less cpu intensive.
