protowall was made to block out the ips that you dont want in..i use to use it until i got lazy and then went back to peerguardian..really both do the same thing but protowall i feel uses less resources

I use Protowall in conjunction with Blocklist Manager. My current blocklist blocks 42% of the internet!! Protowall seems to have the smallest cpu footprint compared to other similar filters I've tried.

the only problem with the new blocklits..that itll block really odd things..i keep getting ohio state and such like that..it kinda gets quite annoying

I don't use that rig for general browsing/usage etc., so i never notice that kind of thing. I can imagine it would get rather annoying though.

No such problem with the blocklist that comes with protowall.

I LOVE Protowall. I would consider it a necessity if you ever use torrent, dc++...
