Reformat or what?

ok, well im at a lan party, and I had sp2 on from a format about a week ago, and then I was told to uninstall sp2, so i did, and then when computer started back up, NOTHING WORKED then I restarted comp acouple of times and did, ok now i was gonna install sp1a but.. when i do it says aspi.sys or somthing like cant be found, so im freaking out cause i cant instlal sp1a and i get a "Found new hardware" IDE Channel and Secondary IDE Channel, everytime i restart my computer..

so..

should i reformat? or got any other tips on what i should do

Have you tried simply doing a system restore rollback?
