View Full Version : Windows Registry Checker after 140fsb
Windows Registry Checker. Is there a way to disable this? When I push my FSB to 140 x 9.5. This Registry Checker would say "Windows encountered an error accessing the system registry. Windows will restart and repair the system registry for you." Then you get the ok button. This message doesn't go away, you can hide it. Everything works fine on the computer. Even regedit will work. But I really want to get rid of this error message. My OS is WinME. System is listed by my sig. Thanks!
Either your hard drive or hard drive controller is starting to crap out on you due to your PCI bus being out of spec.
Disabling that prompt may end one annoyance but your asking for a hosed system in the near future in my opinion.
The easiest way to get rig of the registry checker from starting uppon boot up is using MSconfig. All you have to do is click the little box saying you don't want scanreg to run when whidows starts up. You can also do this in the registry if you want know what your doing.

TweakIU has this option to disable this feature, but you might want to fix the problem that cases this to appear first. Just my 2 cents.
its obvious that theres a problem... and registry errors are'nt exactly light issues... basically, a sure sign of instability.
as was mentioned, seems the controller does not like a FSB that high... this is what happens when you hit that wall...
your weakest link becomes apparent.
also, sometimes windows gets jacked up from O/C failed boots and unstable ops... etc...
you can try to reformat, and reinstall...
giving you a clean, new registry... by now, it may be sketched.
then you can try to O/C again, and see if the problem arises
or if a clean start gets you a bit further.
but those types of errors should'nt be ignored
