i have a antec 3700 case, but i wana have a nice air flow and a nice clean look so i was thinking about removing the harddrive tray and put my 2 hds in the 5.25 bays. i was wondering if there are such things, i jus want a cheap way of puttin the hds in my 5.25 bays. i know theres hd coolers but i was wondering if there are cheaper ways? or if i could find some really cheap deals? i really don't need hd cooling.

There's little coverter stands that you can buy to put anything 3.5 into a 5.25 bay. They only cost couple of bucks and can be found in virtually any comp store. Here's an example (http://www.axiontech.com/prdt.php?item=2688)

You could just take an old cd-rom drive and gut it, and use the bottom 1/2 with some stand-offs to make your own... Just a thought...

Coolermaster's 4-in-3 module (http://store.yahoo.com/svcompucycle/stb-3t4-e1.html) is worth mentioning if you have the room, it'll convert 3 adjacent 5.25 bays into 4 3.5" bays, with a 120mm fan to cool it all off.

Two different ways I have do this.
Method One, My Main Rig, Pic 1 (http://members.shaw.ca/lunaticfreak/images/HardDrive2Big.jpg)
Method One, My Main Rig, Pic 2 (http://members.shaw.ca/lunaticfreak/images/HardDrive1Big.jpg)
Method Two, My Second Rig, Pic 1 (http://members.shaw.ca/lunaticfreak/images/HD2.jpg)
Both ways work great.

IMO, the first one is too complicated (bah, lining up the stuff... :p ), and the second one looks a little unsturdy. I am in the phase of loving acrylic, so I would probably get a long strip of acrylic (1.5-2X as long as the hard drive), that is about as wide as the hard drive is thick, then place the hard drive in the middle of it, drill holes for mounting screws. Then curl both ends of the acrylic around in a U shape, so its basicly two U's, with the open part facing each other. then on the outter part of the U, drill holes for screws to mount to the 5.25 bay.

the one in your second rig should work well

Acutally both methods took under 5min to do, and the second one is sturddy enough for me to shake the case upside down, See this pic (http://members.shaw.ca/lunaticfreak/images/HD3.jpg)

Ah, shweet. Are those like, gigantic rubber bands? Wonder how they will hold up.... :eh?: But the other method... If it takes only 5 mins, more power to you. Might be good for Pineabs to use it.
