I'm getting a motherboard temp of 34C at Idle. This is bad right? Depending on how hot my apartment gets it can go up to 38C. I have plenty of fans but if the room temp is high Im just sending in hot air, right?

It depends on what the actual room temperature is when you measure the case/motherboard temperature. Obviously, the same reading would be best. There really isn't anything you can really do to lower the case temperature except lower the room temperature. I would personally give it about 5 degrees C of slack if I felt it had good airflow

I think 30s are fine. My mobo temps seem to get to 35 max and stay there. They almost never fluctuate, at all. I got pretty much the same box as you, too-

You can only get your case temp to room ambient usually, like It_the_Cow said. If it hits 40 I'd start to worry.

Remember that temperature is from 1 small thermistor somewhere on the board, not the whole board.

As far as I know, their is no unsafe motherboard temp unless it is outrageous(60C). The thing is though, that your heatsink can only cool so much based on the ambient(motherboard) temp. A case with good ventilation will be within 2-3C of the Room temp.
