View Full Version : Folding is Freezing!
Alright I have been running folding on this 1700+ dedicated folder. One day it just stopped folding, like it acts as it is but when you click on it it freezes and then shuts down. I have tried as many versions as possible, even the console and I can't get anywhere.
My os is Win Xp.
Can anyone help?
is the computer still stable? can you post your log file?
I went and checked the log and it seems as it is folding, but it's taking 690 minutes a frame!!
I guess I'll just reformat and take it from there.

No need to reformat yet. When folding@home detects that it did not terminate peoperly it disables SSE optimizations. First check your stability useing prime 95, then start up the console with the -forceasm to turn the optimizations back on. If your comp is stable but it is still freezing, then reinstall FAH.

Alright first of all I tried re-installing folding multiple times, so it was more then that.
It may sound stupid, but here's what I did, I created a new user and downloaded the new folding 5.02 and I guess it seemed to work well. It's now moving at 6 minutes a frame.
My only question is it's a 400 frame tinker and I have the -forceasm flag on do I need any others?

-forceasm is still a valid flag. -forcesse is not.
