I decided to go ahead and build a computer on my own, my own merry christmas to myself :santa: . I ordered to all the parts with the exception of the TT Venus 12+ from newegg.com. I am just hoping that I will not have problems with the MB and it will be the rev. 2. This is my first build and my first overclocking experience for a new computer. My 9800 pro is overclocked to 415/355 (VGA SILENCER) on my compaq other than that no overclocking experience. Tell me what you all think about overclocking, specs, building advice..........

Athlon 64 3000+ OEM
Thermaltake Venus 12+
Epox 8kda3J
PQI pc3200 2-2-2-5
Western Digital 80 Gig 7200 SATA WD800J
Sapphire 9800 Pro 128
Sony cdrw-dvd-combo
Sony 3.5 Floppy
Aspire X-Infinity Turbo Case

looks good to me but why not use a thermalright HS inside of the thermaltake, the thermalright will allow you to get a better OC

I am short on $$$$$ and.......I have seen good overclocks with the venus 12+ and tons of good reviews. I don't seen the need.....this is my first overclock too so i will not be going all crazy overclocking.

Hard drive will probably make your system "feel" a bit slower than others, but it wont affect your gaming performance. I have also heard the Venus is loud, though I havnt heard it myself. Im sure you will be happy with it all though. Keep us updated plz.

Looks good to me, i havent heard much about the new Rev 2 Epox boards but my Rev 1 has no problems besides the vcore bug on the newer bios versions.

Well from what I understand is that the voltage problem is when messing with the bios. Couldn't I just go ahead and get everything settled in and not turn off the computer but occasionaly. Is it hard to clear the CMOS, or is it just a small battery that comes out??

Outside of actually disconnecting things and opening the case up, it's simple. You can either take the battery out, or move the CMOS clear jumper over for a second. Not difficult at all.
