Iv got my saph 9800pro flashed to XT and o/c to 471/371, but cant seem to get either the gpu or mem ne higher cause the memory causes artifacts for both gpu and mem scans, im using ati tray tool, but even when it detects atrifacts for mem and i run 3d mark 03 i cant see ne artifacts, what can i do to get my mem higher?

Get a vga silencer rev 3, some ocz ramsink, some as5.

i put what dbz suggested on my 9800, but i also hear that the zalman heatpipe vga cooler works better than the vga silencer if you administer direct air flow (like a fan card). I think its a toss-up, but deemed the vga silencer's ability to move hot air directly out of the case a valuable quality, and now my ambient temps are hella low....

plus the vnf3-250 is kinda short on pci slots, so a fan card is really out of the question....

for the love of jebus, don't overclock with that stock hsf! lol just wait till you get that after-market vga cooler THEN oc. ur gonna laugh when you take off that hs for the first time and you realize how flimsy and sub-par it is. Underclock now! Hmm..I'm sure the card can take a little oc, but if you see artifacts (or if ati tray detects them), then its a good idea to tone it down, or risk destroying your gpu.....

For one reason, ATItool is a very stressful program on your GPU sort of like what Prime95 is on the CPU.

As for the OC man I hope its got some cooling on that because those speeds are probley running that card quiet HOT. Also check your ram speed, you might be at the limit of the ram where you are at right now anyways.

na iv got arctic cooling rev 3 and vantex ramsinks, used as5 too (in my sig, soz forgot to mention), got a temp probe and temps are 37 idle, 45 load

If your RAM won't go past 371, and you've already got good airflow, and RAMsinks on the chips, then there probably isn't much you can do to improve your situation.

Trying a different BIOS might help you, but is a bit of a goose chase unless you know what kind of RAM chips you have on there.

Your core is doing quite well though, 471 is a pretty big clock with a VGA silencer.

yeah felinusz is right, i can if i oc to 471, but i'd get major artifacts...but i had my ram set to 391 even before i even put the ramsinks on.....does yours have the hynix ram like mine does?
