Ok, you guys probably know what is my problem if you've been aroudn here last night, lol but for all of you who forgot I can't get my FSB higher than 10x(150-153) with it booting into windows and passing SETI. It would be ok for me if it would let me raise my mult to higher than 10 but it doesn't, tried to raise the voltage to as high as I can on Vcore which is 1.85 max on my board but nothing. My temps seem to be fine, even at 1.85:

10x150 @1.7volts:
Idle- 39C
Load- 43C

10x150 @1.85volts:
Idle- 41C
Load- 44C

That's not high I believe, so why do I fail to get up in the 1600z. I was told that this cpu can easily hit that.

Anyone experience such madness?

It could be any number of things not necessarily the cpu. For a start your ram may not be able to take much more than a 300mhz ddr bus, try setting some of the memory settings a little more conservatively and maybe running at host-pciclk, it could also be a limit of the board in which case theres not much you can do short of improving the northbridge cooler, have you tryed upping the vio voltage at all? Also many pci peripherals such as nic's or internal modems can be fussy about high pci bus speeds so try removing them one by one. And lastly theres your vid card, it may not be able to take a high agp bus speed, at least not with the current settings, turning off sba and maybe setting to agp1x may help. How come you are stuck with a 10x multiplyer?

Maybe the chip just wont do it. I was promised my cc0 600 celeron would do a gig easy, and all I could hit was 927. I tried everything too. Burning, lapping, alpha hsf, etc. Same with my slot a tbird 700. I was promised that would hit a gig easy. Same deal.

I have the same problem with my cel 600 but I think it's due to an inadequate psu.
A good way to test if it's the chip being maxed or the fsb being maxed would be to lower the multiplyer and see if you can then get a higher fsb

Now theres something I havent tried. Maybe Ill drop a enermax 400w in my celly box and see what happens. Its my UT TacOps server now, but it would still be cool to hit a gig with it.
