I am going to add and additional 160g SATA on the SI controller. There are 2 Raptors on the Intel in Raid0. This is my plan, please correct any mistakes in the sequence if I have it wrong.
1. Reboot and enable the SI controller
2. Reboot and load the driver for the SI controller
3. Shutdown and hook the new drive to SATA 3
4. Reboot and enter the SI bios, add the drive and set as a 1 drive array
5. Reboot and WinXP should now install the drive
6. Format with NTFS

Is this the right way of going about it? None of my previous boards had the 2 controllers before.

TIA for any suggestions

Yeah that should work. I undid my raid and it was mostly automatic.
I thought SATA's are hot swapable...
