Hey I recently reformatted my comp and I'm looking for a good Bit Torrent client. What one do you use/think is the best and why?

I like BitComet. Have used Azureus but seemed to get alot more hack attempts so I switched back to BitComet.

I use TorrentStorm. Easy, straightforward. Electro mentioned something about people trying to hack him.. I've never ran into anything like that using TorrentStorm. Didn't know torrents were particularly succeptable to that. *shrugs*

Easy to use, and one of the fastest clients I have ever tried.

i never used any of these programs, do you need to open ports on firewall to do so?

Ill second BitTornado. You need to forward ports 6881-6889 on your firewall/router to get the best out of bit torrent.

I like this one, too. It's just like the standard BT client, but it has lots of nifty other features that make it a more robust tool. :)

BitTornado if you want each torrent to have its own download window, feels more like a default/oem kinda thing. Azeurus if you want a frontend for all the torrents at once, feels like a p2p/kazaa kinda thing.

I used bitorrent UNTIL i found ABC. It is the greatest BT client I have EVER used. In fact, it is a heavily modified version of Bittornado. You must, must, must check it out.

EDIT: I almost forgot to mention that it seems to forward ports, etc. by itself

Azureus, haven't experimented with any others really and Azureus gave me no reason to do so

Used to use BitTornado, but now I use BitComet. I really like it. It's a lot like Azerus, but different.

Definitely worth looking at.
