aight ppls,

I was browsing a "backstreet" style corner PC store, while here in europe, and sadly few places handle AMD prod.

but I found 2 places, and when I asked them how much their boards were,
they had a Asus A7A266 for 114,
and a MSI 6330 for 85,
now I'm lost on US prices but they seemed decent,

BUT the problem wasn't there, when I asked for t-bird prices,
they asked me if I wanted a DDR T-bird or a SDRAM T-bird,
apparently there was a difference and an obvious price bracket..
I wanted a 1 ghz, they had DDR 1 ghz, and SDRAM 1.4..

someone cure my confusion,

thanx

They were probably talking about the FSB speed: 133 or 266. Make sure you get the right kind of mobo if you buy a 266 MHz one.

theres no such thing as a ddr or sdr tbird. There are socket a boards that take either ddr or sdr ram and any tbird will work in one, also the front side bus on the tbird is ddr, either 200 or 266mhz. there may be a price differance between a tbird that is made for a 200mhz fsb over one for a 266mhz fsb, just buy the cheapest. Ideally you want a chip with either the AXIA, AVIA or AHYJA marking on it, the default speed and bus is irrelavent as you can unlock the multiplyer and run at any bus and multiplyer you want
