I don't think that penguin was trying to get lippy I think he was asking why should he want to and what could be done through Open_Gl programming. As for the upset tone that seems to ring through in your post just remeber please try and keep it calm we don't want to start a flame war in here. :)

Steady! Sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude I would like to be able to program openGL. I have some experience with C and your problem may not be specific to OpenGL.
